PRESIDENT/CEO VOICES, INC.

As CEO and President of Voices, Inc., Candida Mobley has always used her voice to empower, educate and inspire her community. As a veteran media and communications executive, she built Voices, Inc. from the ground up with one goal in mind -- to convey important information to an urban audience often overlooked by traditional communication mediums.

Ms. Mobley’s career began at the Stevie Wonder-owned KJLH-FM radio station in Los Angeles where she pitched the idea and subsequently went on the air to help educate the listening audience about the importance of exercise. What began as a 20-minute “out of the box” program resulted in a regular program that broke listenership ratings for its timeslot and launched an overnight career as a DJ.

An inventive, highly-creative and solutions-driven professional, Ms. Mobley quickly realized that the “midnight hour” was the time set aside for mandatory public service announcements (PSAs). Instead of simply being disheartened that important information was not being heard by a wider Los Angeles audience, she realized the opportunity to set herself apart and launched Voices, Inc. in 1983.

Her idea of creating a voice for the disenfranchised became a highly profitable syndication tool merging public service announcements with corporate sponsored community bulletins. “In the Know” became an overnight sensation and Voices, Inc.’s radio syndicate model was seen as a revolutionary tool in getting public education messages into the difficult-to-reach African American community.

With Ms. Mobley at its helm, Voices, Inc. has evolved over the years from a radio production and syndication company into a full-service communications agency specializing in social marketing. Her company’s services include market research, the creation of television, radio, print and outdoor campaigns, private/public partnership development and community outreach programs.

Ms. Mobley's most recent expertise lies in media planning and buying, project oversight, and developing relevant, culturally sensitive, and memorable messaging. Mobley has extensive experience in the field of corporate oversight, strategy development, communications program design, partnership development, and contract fiscal management, with core competencies in creative advertising and public relations.

Mobley planned and implemented an award-winning targeted media campaign for the Census 2010. To execute the campaign she designed, created and implemented a fully integrated general market and multicultural outreach effort that included celebrity talent, the creation of training materials, marketing radio, TV and out-of-home, and efficiently designing, planning and implementing an $11.5 million media buy under tight deadlines that required negotiation with more than 500 media outlets.

She has developed and executed general and targeted market advertising campaigns and community outreach events for clients that include: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Services, Environmental Protection Agency, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Navy SEALs.

Ms. Mobley is dedicated to providing quality and creative communication strategies to her clients that have resulted in prestigious awards and honors. She is an active participant in community and business affairs; a motivational speaker; a voice for success of women and small business enterprises and an engaged mother and member of her church community.
